In the Government response to the House of Lords Select committee on Science and Technology’s report on Complementary and Alternative Medicine 2001, it was recommended by the Government that Complementary Therapy Organisations should develop Voluntary systems of Self-Regulation and in our opinion should consequently agree a set of Standards to Regulate each Profession.
Therefore, as a Lead and Standard Setting Body and with the Courtesy of the Complementary Healing Association (C.H.A.), The British Alliance of Healing Associations (B.A.H.A.) have a Core Curriculum for Healing. This complies with and in some cases exceeds those laid down by the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Healing.
The Core Curriculum provides the Minimum Training Standards for the Voluntary Self-Regulation of Healers by defining the Standards by which their Knowledge Base, Practice and Professional and Ethical Accountability can be Measured.
BAHA are currently in the Process of updating all Training Material to reflect the Core Curriculum.
